You can stitch up your own replica plate with this embroidered State License Plate style keyfob! Design files include lettered versions as well as BLANKS so you can add your own lettering and make them personalized.
You will receive a PDF document that has LINKS to the design files that you can the download to your own personal storage space. You will have access to this set of designs for as long as the Internet lasts as well as any updates or additions to this series of designs.
Use pleather, vinyl or leather to sew these In The Hoop Snap Tabs. Feel free to change the lettering in these designs to reflect your own style or your favorite phrase! Use a sans serif font that is between 1/2" and 3/4" tall and insert your lettering instead of the included lettering. The zip files include both the tab on top as well as the tab on the side. Please note that the side tab version will only fit in a 5x7 size hoop. The top snap tab version fits in the 4x4 hoop.
It's simple to make! Follow these simple steps:
- Hoop medium tear away stabilizer.
- Run Placement Stitches on stabilizer only.
- Float material for the front of your tag.
- Run the middles of the design, the lettering and design element steps in colors that contrast nicely with your material.
- Float material for the back of your tag on the back of your hoop with either tape or a embroidery adhesive.
- Stitch the final outline, which encloses all the stitching inside the tag leaving a perfect finish. Use the same color as you did for the lettering, the same color as the material, or something completely different for a fun look!
- Remove from hoop and trim around the outline - leave about 1/8" or 1/16" when you trim. Go slowly and use nice long cuts for the best look.
- Apply snaps on the tab. My favorites are plastic KAM snaps. You may also use rivets to permanently attach your tag to the hardware you choose. You can use a key ring or a d ring or a d ring swivel lobster clasp.
- All done!
