I’m Sheila, the maker, designer, and heart behind Designs by Babymoon, where I create ridiculously cute machine embroidery designs for makers who love turning fabric and thread into something joyful.
At the core of everything I design is a simple goal:
to help you create something you’re genuinely excited to stitch—and proud to share when it’s finished.
🧵 How It All Started
Babymoon was born after my fifth baby arrived, during that quiet, emotional season when life slows down just enough to make you ask, “What do I really want to build next?”
I had been working in a local boutique and pushing my sewing skills every day, but I felt a pull to create something of my own—something that combined creativity, motherhood, and my love of embroidery and design.
So I started designing.
What began as a small creative leap turned into Designs by Babymoon—a growing studio where embroidery machines, software, and a whole lot of curiosity come together to make designs that are both beautiful and usable.
✨ What “Babymoon” Means to Me
A babymoon is that sweet, quiet time when a new baby arrives and everything feels soft, sacred, and full of love.
That feeling—gentleness, warmth, and connection—is what I try to weave into every design I make.
Because I know your time is precious.
And I want your stitching time to feel like a little creative escape, not a struggle.

My goal is always the same:

🏡 A Little More About Me
I’ve been sewing for as long as I can remember—taught by the women in my family who always had fabric, thread, and creativity close at hand.
Today, I live in San Antonio, Texas, where I run my studio with a lot of caffeine, a lot of ideas, and a very full home life.
I’m also a Shannon Fabrics Cuddle Ambassador and love teaching sewists how to get the most out of beautiful minky and specialty fabrics.
