Have you tried making
in the hoop earrings yet? They are terribly easy - you can make some with scraps of your favorite leather or vinyl in less time than it takes you to get dressed to go out shopping for new earrings! (That is why we make things, right?)
Here are the simple steps to create amazing earrings from either leather or vinyl!
Hoop your stabilizer (I use tearaway -
this is my current favorite stabilizer (affiliate link) )
Run the placement stitches to show where the pieces will stitch out
Cover the stitching areas with vinyl or thin garment leather on the front and the same material (for vinyl) on the back or pigskin lining leather on the back and run the finishing stitches.
Trim carefully around each piece with sharp scissors
Apply jewelry hardware of choice and walk out the door fabulous!
I just love how popping on a pair of great earrings instantly makes me feel put together and completely dressed! Match your outfit, the holiday, or just wear what makes you happy!
When you grab a design from
